Zylos Launcher ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Nitin Mathuria, trading as Zylos Os. Our contact email is support@zylosos.com. Our website is https://zylosos.com.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use the Zylos Launcher Android application ("App") available on Google Play.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 On-Device Data (Processed Locally — Never Uploaded)

The following data is accessed on your device to power launcher features. This data is never uploaded to our servers or any third party.

2.2 Notification Content (Opt-In, Processed Locally)

The App includes an optional Notification Listener Service. If you grant notification access:

• The App reads notification content (e.g., music track names, message previews) only to display it on your home screen
• Notification content is never stored, uploaded, or transmitted
• Revoke access anytime: Android Settings → Notifications → Special app access → Notification access

2.3 Accessibility Service (Opt-In, Processed Locally)

The App includes an optional Accessibility Service. If you enable it:

• Used exclusively for advanced gesture shortcuts and system-level launcher interactions
• Does not read on-screen content from other apps, log keystrokes, or transmit any data
• Disable anytime: Android Settings → Accessibility → Zylos Launcher
• Core launcher functionality works without it

2.4 Anonymous Analytics and Crash Reporting (Collected Remotely)

The App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us understand usage and fix bugs:

Firebase Analytics collects:

• Anonymous usage events (screens opened, features used, session duration)
• Device info (Android version, device model, screen resolution)
• App version
• A pseudonymous Firebase installation ID (not linked to any personal identity)

Firebase Crashlytics collects (only on crash):

• Crash stack traces and exception details
• Device state at crash time (memory, Android version, app version)
• No personal data (contacts, calendar, media) is ever included in crash reports

Your choices:

• Opt out anytime: App Settings → Privacy → Analytics
• EEA/UK users: analytics requires your explicit consent, requested during onboarding. Withdraw anytime in Settings.

2.5 Launcher Configuration (Stored Locally)

Your home screen layout, folders, gesture settings, and theme preferences are stored locally using encrypted storage (EncryptedSharedPreferences). Never uploaded.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information solely to:

1. Provide home screen features using on-device data (contacts, calendar, media, etc.)
2. Understand how the App is used and improve it (anonymous analytics)
3. Diagnose and fix bugs (crash reporting)

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

4.1 Google Firebase (Google LLC)

Anonymous analytics and crash reports are processed by Google Firebase, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Firebase servers are primarily in the United States. Data transfers from the EEA/UK to the US are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) provided by Google.

4.2 Third-Party Widget Apps

Zylos Launcher supports hosting widgets from third-party apps on your device. These widgets are operated entirely by their respective developers. We do not share data with widget apps and are not responsible for their data practices. Review the privacy policy of any widget app you add.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.

5. Data Storage and Security

• All on-device data (contacts, calendar, media, launcher configuration) never leaves your device
• Launcher configuration is stored in encrypted local storage (EncryptedSharedPreferences, AES256-GCM)
• Analytics data is pseudonymous and processed by Google Firebase
• Notification and accessibility data are processed in memory only — never stored or transmitted
• Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data

6. Data Retention

There are no user accounts in this version — no account data is collected or retained.

7. Your Rights

7.1 All Users

This version of the App has no user accounts and collects no personal data beyond anonymous analytics. To opt out of analytics, go to App Settings → Privacy → Analytics. To request deletion of analytics data tied to your Firebase installation ID, contact support@zylosos.com.

7.2 India — IT Act and DPDP Act (Operator Jurisdiction)

The App is operated from Rajasthan, India by Nitin Mathuria, trading as Zylos Os. We act as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and comply with the IT (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011 under Section 43A of the IT Act.

7.3 European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland — GDPR

We process anonymous analytics under legitimate interests (maintaining a stable app) and consent for Firebase Analytics (requested during onboarding). Withdraw consent anytime in Settings. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7.4 California Residents — CCPA / CPRA

We do not sell or share personal information. The only data transmitted remotely is anonymous analytics (device info, usage events, pseudonymous installation ID).

7.6 Other Jurisdictions

We comply with applicable privacy laws in all jurisdictions where the App is available, including Canada (PIPEDA), Australia (Privacy Act 1988), Japan (APPI), South Korea (PIPA), and South Africa (POPIA).

8. Sensitive Permissions — Special Disclosures

Notification Access

Read only to display content on your home screen. Never stored or transmitted.

Accessibility Service

Used only for gesture shortcuts within the launcher. Does not read content from other apps. Optional.

Contacts

Read only for quick-action feed cards. Never uploaded or shared.

Calendar

Read only to display events in the feed card. Never uploaded or shared.

App Usage Stats

Used only for personal screen time display. Never uploaded or shared.

Analytics

Anonymous usage events and crash reports only. Opt out anytime in App Settings → Privacy → Analytics.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact support@zylosos.com if you believe a child has provided personal information.

A future version of this App will introduce user accounts (email, name, profile photo) and a theme marketplace. We will update this Privacy Policy before those features launch and notify you in-app.

12. Changes to This Policy

We will update the "Last updated" date and notify you via in-app notification when changes are made. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
